It is unclear whether South Africa is bankrupt and whether the corruption is increasing so much that hundreds of graduates sit at home after the country’s Department of Health’s budget does not seem to cater for placement in public facilities. Medical staff at Durban’s Addington Hospital have been accused of gross negligence after the body of a patient, who allegedly committed suicide in a ward’s bathroom, was apparently found three days later.
